Illustrator also has it's own file which is an adobe illustrator file. It is found as (.ai) This file keeps layers and types in illustrator.
GIF. This file is found as (.gif) This file compresses the files so they end up small. This file is not good for detail and is very rarely used for printing.
PNG. This file is found as (.png) It also compresses the file but is better quality. Also saves the transparent area so that the green does not come up in the white background.
JPEG. This file is found as (.jpg) This file format is the most popular. It compresses the file into small files. When it does so it has standard quality.
EPS. This file is found as (.eps) With this file you can save something that is very small. Then when you open it again you can enlargen it and it will not lose any quality.
TIF. This file is saved as (.tif) This is the best file format to use and it has the best quality.
PDF. This file is found as (.pdf) This file gets smaller when it saves. Anybody can open it When you save as a pdf in photoshop it will keep the original layers and types etc.
In illustrator you can also save as a scalable vector graphics. This is found as (.svg)
This is an example of an animation GIF file. This is a still GIF file.
This is a PNG file with a transparent background. This is the picture that i have put in a coloured background.
